	and scenes of this mystical place are shown, while a FEMALE NARRATOR reads a 
	cryptic passage over the images.</p>

	<p align="CENTER">(V.O.)</p>
	<p align="CENTER">It is a place that dwells in the memory who still dream of 
	its ancient glory. A world revered for its beauty, mystery and danger. On a 
	planet of endless adventure, such a land is known as &quot;El-Hazard&quot;. If your spirit 
	has wings to travel, even across the breadth of a thousand million nights, imagination 
	will guide the way, and the gates of El-Hazard will always be open to you.</p>

	<li>EXT/INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL MONTAGE – DAY</li>
</ol>
<p>Shinonome Highschool is where the adventure of El-Hazard begins. Cultural ruins 
have been found beneath the school, and the site is rife with activity from various 
television crew and architectural researchers. Various students hover around the 
basement, as a film crew shoots a newscaster reporting the story. And at the center 
of everything; a single Arabian-esque pillar…</p>
<p>SUBTITLE: EL-HAZARD The Magnificent World</p>
<p>3. INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – CORRIDOR – DAY</p>
<p>MR. MASAMICHI FUJISAWA, a disgruntled male teacher at the Highschool, attempts 
to disperse the crowds.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">All right, break it up. The show’s over for now!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA makes his way to the entrance to the basement.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Come on outta there! Hurry up! Damn kids...</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>Using a rope, he blocks off the entrance by draping it over the banister and 
the wall.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Listen up. Investigators are gonna be working here, so that means 
no one goes down there, right?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>The surrounding students protest, infuriating FUJISAWA further.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Shut up! Now go on, get to class, will ya?!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>He turns back to rope and rummages through his pockets.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">(to himself)</p>
<p align="CENTER">Rotten brats. Where the hell did I put that tape?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>As he searches, a bottle of saké falls from his pocket. The STUDENTS gasp.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MALE STUDENT 1</p>
<p align="CENTER">Look! Fujisawa’s on the sauce!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">FEMALE STUDENT 1</p>
<p align="CENTER">He’s a lush!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA tries approaching them.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Uh, now, wait, it’s medicinal!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>The STUDENTS run off laughing in all directions. One of the STUDENTS faintly 
sings &quot;Booze Hound, Booze Hound&quot;...</p>
<p align="CENTER">FEMALE STUDENT 2</p>
<p align="CENTER">Don’t let a match near him!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Don’t blame me... I’m just weak.</p>

	<li>INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – BASEMENT – DAY</li>
</ol>
<p>Down in the site of the remnants, KATSUHIKO JINNAI, the 17-year-old student president 
from SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL, is combing his hair in preparation for his big television 
debut. A NEWSCASTER and CREW finish work to go live. CREWMEMBER 1 indicates the 
countdown using his fingers.</p>
<p align="CENTER">CREW MEMBER 1</p>
<p align="CENTER">Going live on the air in 3, 2...</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>CREW MEMBER 1 signals &quot;1&quot; with his finger and everyone quiets down. The NEWSCASTER 
begins her report.</p>
<p align="CENTER">NEWSCASTER</p>
<p align="CENTER">With us as the site is Katsuhiko Jinnai, who made the amazing 
discovery right here.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>She turns to JINNAI.</p>
<p align="CENTER">NEWSCASTER</p>
<p align="CENTER">Uh, tell us...</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>JINNAI interrupts her and snatches the mic.</p>
<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
<p align="CENTER">Yes, you can imagine my surprise, when this simple and humble 
student president found ancient, cultural remnants beneath our school. I feel it 
was destiny.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>He nods his head solemnly. 2 MALE STUDENTS stand on the stairs to the basement, 
looking completely unimpressed.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MALE STUDENT 1</p>
<p align="CENTER">That’s crap! I heard a Literature Freshman found it.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MALE STUDENT 2</p>
<p align="CENTER">Oh yeah? What a total shmuck!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>As they talk, NANAMI JINNAI, JINNAI’s younger sister, walks down, followed by 
a CAMERA MAN of her own.</p>
<p>JINNAI continues his little speech.</p>
<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
<p align="CENTER">I believe it would fitting to call –</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>JINNAI pushes his face closer to the camera.</p>
<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>

<p>NANAMI walks up the crew, complete with her own camera and mic. She introduces 
herself.</p>
<p align="CENTER">NANAMI</p>
<p align="CENTER">S’cuse me. Sorry to interrupt, I’m Miss. Jinnai from the broadcast 
club. I’d like to ask a few questions about your allegedly dishonest election.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>NANAMI smiles, knowing she’s dropped JINNAI in it now. </p>
<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
<p align="CENTER">Nanami...</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>JINNAI points, his arm shaking accusingly at his sister.</p>
<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
<p align="CENTER">How dare you say this to your big brother?!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">NANAMI</p>
<p align="CENTER">A journalist, a good one, must be completely objective.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
<p align="CENTER">But you’re not in the broadcast club!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>NANAMI giggles slightly.</p>
<p align="CENTER">NANAMI</p>
<p align="CENTER">They paid me to take this assignment! So, Mr. President, any comments 
regarding the growing suspicion at this Highschool of a dishonest election?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>JINNAI panics.</p>
<p align="CENTER">NANAMI</p>
<p align="CENTER">Well?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
<p align="CENTER">But I am innocent!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>5. INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – CLASS ROOM – DAY</p>
<p>The events in the basement are now being shown live on television.</p>
<p align="CENTER">NANAMI</p>
<p align="CENTER">I’m sure you can discuss that tomorrow. Makoto – uh, I mean – 
Mr. Mizuhara, a fellow student, will be the key witness at the student government 
meeting. Any concerns about his testimony?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
<p align="CENTER">(to camera)</p>
<p align="CENTER">Hey, you! What are you grinning at, smart ass?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">CAMERA MAN</p>
<p align="CENTER">(O.S.)</p>
<p align="CENTER">You!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
<p align="CENTER">That’s it! Get that lousy camera outta my face!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>JINNAI swats the camera down. Everyone on screen starts shouting and the scene 
turns to static.</p>
<p>At the other end of the room, 3 COUNCIL MEMBERS watch with MAKOTO MIZUHARA, a 
17-year-old high grade student at the school. COUNCIL MEMBER 1 turns the television 
off.</p>
<p align="CENTER">COUNCIL MEMBER 1</p>
<p align="CENTER">At last, the tyrant has been deposed.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">COUNCIL MEMBER 2</p>
<p align="CENTER">Good. I was sick of the bastard, and his fascist politics!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">COUNCIL MEMBER 3</p>
<p align="CENTER">Makoto, you’re in.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>MAKOTO sighs.</p>
<p align="CENTER">COUNCIL MEMBER 1</p>
<p align="CENTER">What’s wrong?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">I really feel like such a snitch. I didn’t mean to, but I overheard 
Ishijima, from the Baseball club, and Katsuhiko talking together. I wasn’t trying 
to spy on them at all.</p>

	<li>EXT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – GROUNDS – DAY</li>
	<p>ISHIJIMA makes to go inside a building. NANAMI calls after him. </p>
	<p align="CENTER">NANAMI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">(O.S.)</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Mr. Ishijima!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>ISHIJIMA opens the door, as NANAMI rounds the corner, with the CAMERA MAN 
	following her.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">NANAMI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Mr. Ishijima, please wait a minute!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>ISHIJIMA goes to close the door, but NANAMI stops him.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">NANAMI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Is there any truth to the allegation that you and President 
	Katsuhiko Jinnai had a secret agreement to increase the baseball club’s budget? 
	Tell me now!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>ISHIJIMA has heard enough and closes the door. NANAMI shouts through the 
	door to him.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">NANAMI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">You’re just stalling the inevitable!</p>
	<p align="RIGHT"></p>
	</li>
	<li>INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – CLASSROOM – DAY</li>
	<p>The COUNCIL MEMBERS are still discussing JINNAI with MAKOTO.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">COUNCIL MEMBER 1</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Jinnai was buying all their votes. He paid off the soccer 
	club and the judo and the baseball clubs. He used student government funds!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">COUNCIL MEMBER 3</p>
	<p align="CENTER">That explains how he got into office. Huh. No one would vote 
	for him otherwise.</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">COUNCIL MEMBER 2</p>
	<p align="CENTER">With your testimony, we can air his dirty laundry <i>and
	</i>get that jerk off the council, for good!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Yeah, but Katsuhiko is still one of my friends, you know.</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">COUNCIL MEMBER 3</p>
	<p align="CENTER">It’s your duty to Shinonome High. Don’t you have any balls, 
	kid? </p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>MAKOTO becomes annoyed and gets up, slamming his hands down on the desk.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Yeah, like Cantaloupes!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">COUNCIL MEMBER 3</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Good! That’s exactly what we need to head this impeachment!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Ohh no.</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	</li>
	<li>INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL - CORRIDOR – DAY</li>
	<p>JINNAI is angrily tearing down the posters, promoting his coming trial and 
	impeachment.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Wahh! My world is crumbling! Why is he doing this to me?!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>JINNAI slumps against a notice board and sobs. Suddenly, he notices some 
	test results. He sees that he got 2<sup>nd</sup> place and smiles. But, upon 
	seeing that MAKOTO got 1<sup>st</sup> place, he goes berserk, tearing down the 
	results.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Why meee?!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>Underneath the results, there is a picture of MAKOTO winning a race from 
	the last Sports Day. JINNAI looks at this with an insane expression.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Makoto... I hate you...</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	</li>
	<li>EXT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL - SPORTS DAY FLASHBACK – DAY</li>
	<p>The picture seems to come to life, as MAKOTO crosses the finish line. JINNAI 
	follows a few second later in a breathless stupor and collapses to the ground. 
	On the ground, he growls at MAKOTO. He then has his head stepped on.</p>
	</li>
	<li>INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – CORRIDOR – DAY</li>
	<p>JINNAI smiles insanely at this memory.</p>
	</li>
	<li>EXT – A HILL OVER LOOKING SHINONOME – FLASHBACK – DAY</li>
	<p>MAKOTO and JINNAI are drawing some observational pictures of the city down 
	below. JINNAI looks at his moderately well drawn picture smugly. He then turns 
	to MAKOTO’s and sees it is beautifully drawn and without a single error visible. 
	JINNAI turns from his drawing to MAKOTO’s repeatedly. JINNAI screams and snaps 
	his drawing in half.</p>
	</li>
	<li>INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – CORRIDOR – DAY</li>
	<p>JINNAI’s face is becoming less stable.</p>
	</li>
	<li>INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – CAFFETERIA FLASHBACK – DAY</li>
	<p>A normal lunch time at SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL. JINNAI is pushing through the 
	crowds to get some lunch. Just then, he spots the last sandwich. </p>
	<p>&nbsp;</p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Hah ha!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>Thinking that luck is finally on his side, JINNAI reaches for it. But before 
	he can grab it, another hand takes it first. </p>
	<p align="JUSTIFY"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Hey!</p>
	<p>Surprise, surprise, the hand belongs to MAKOTO.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Again?!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>JINNAI squeezes his milk in anger, causing the carton to drench his face.</p>
	</li>
	<li>INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – CORRIDOR – DAY</li>
	<p>JINNAI has snapped. He stabs a compass in the neck of the picture and tears 
	it, triumphantly.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">I loathe you, Makoto Mizuhara! You’re nothing! Less than nothing, 
	yet you always get in the way of my superiority!</p>
	<p>He leans against the notice board and tries to talk calmly.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">You won’t win now... Not this time... I’ll show you! (creepily) 
	It’s not that easy to get rid of me... Ohhhh, no. I think things would be a 
	lot easier for me around here, without you... in the picture!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>JINNAI starts laughing like a madman, gathering a small audience. He starts 
	to choke at the end.</p>
	</li>
	<li>EXT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – GROUNDS – DAY</li>
	<p>The sun is setting at the site of Shinonome Highschool.</p>
	</li>
	<li>INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – LOCKERS – DAY</li>
	<p>The end of the school day. MAKOTO is finishing off at the school by taking 
	things he needs from his locker. Suddenly, he finds something unusual in there.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Huh?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>It’s a letter. MAKOTO lifts it out and opens it. He reads it aloud. NANAMI’s 
	voice and face overlaps this.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">&quot;Dear Makoto, I’m not usually this forward...&quot;</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">NANAMI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">(V.O.)</p>
	<p align="CENTER">&quot;I’m not usually this forward, but I must talk to you. Meet 
	me after school in the forest. I’ll be waiting. Nanami.&quot;</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">I wonder what she wants to talk to me about... Ahah! Maybe 
	she likes me! </p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>But then MAKOTO has a thought.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Ah, but her brother...</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	</li>
	<li>EXT – THE FOREST – NIGHT</li>
	<p>MAKOTO walks through the FOREST, calling for NANAMI.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Nanami?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>He ventures on further and sees something.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Hmm?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>JINNAI peaks out from behind a tree. He chuckles.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Well, if it isn’t Mr. Mizuhara...</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>MAKOTO reacts to this.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Ahh! Jeez, Jinnai! What are you doing here? Did you write 
	that letter?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Of course not. I’d never do a thing like that. I snuck into 
	my sister’s room and stole one from her ample collection. </p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>MAKOTO sighs. </p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Creative Writing 101?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>JINNAI shows MAKOTO a pile of letters.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Heh. I found one to Wada of the music club, and another to 
	Hayashi of the science fiction club.</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">(dryly)</p>
	<p align="CENTER">That’s swell...</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Huh.</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>JINNAI throws the letters over his shoulder.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">A simple but effective ploy. It served the purpose of bringing 
	my life long rival to me.</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">A life long what?! Who me?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>JINNAI grips a rope and grins. MAKOTO looks shocked and starts backing away 
	from JINNAI.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Ahhh! Whadda you want?!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">I want <i>you</i> out of my hair. At least, until after tomorrow’s 
	student government meeting is over. In clause 23 of the school by-laws, if no 
	evidence is brought against me, my presidency is secure.</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">But you can’t bend the law like that!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Oh yes, I can! The law must serve my purposes!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>MAKOTO turns and runs off.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Ahhhh!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>JINNAI lunges for him and falls over.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">JINNAI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Makoto!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>And so, the chase was on.</p>

	<li>INT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL - FUJISAWA’S CLASSROOM – NIGHT</li>
	<p>FUJISAWA is on the night shift. Scattered around his classroom is a map, 
	cigarettes and a bottle of wine. FUJISAWA hums happily, pours a glass, and takes 
	a swig. He starts cleaning a pickax, when NANAMI calls to him from the corridor.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">NANAMI</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Yoo hoo! Mr. Fujisawaaa!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>FUJISAWA quickly hides the bottle and turns to his student.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Oh, it’s you, Nanami. Well, what are you doing at this hour?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>

	<p>JINNAI giggles and lunges for MAKOTO. MAKOTO screams as a strange effect 
	washes over the high school. </p>

	<p>He opens his eyes and notices that JINNAI is completely frozen.</p>

	<p>MAKOTO touches JINNAI’s stationary head.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Huh?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>MAKOTO taps JINNAI’s clenched fist. He then bends down and examines his leg, 
	which hangs oddly in the air.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Whoah. That’s cool. How do you do that?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>MAKOTO raps against JINNAI’s foot 3 times. Looking around, everything in 
	MAKOTO’s sight seems to be an odd blue colour, except himself.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">What the hell’s going on here? (to JINNAI) Are you dead or 
	alive?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>MAKOTO attempts to shake JINNAI, but it doesn’t work.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Wake up! Come on! Hey! Come on!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>MAKOTO taps the side of JINNAI’s face.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Katsuhiko, snap out of it.</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>MAKOTO looks around, grabs a chair, and smashes it over JINNAI’s face. But, 
	still nothing happens. MAKOTO finally sees that something very weird is going 
	on.</p>

	<p align="CENTER">Say something! Or at least blink your eyes!</p>

	<p>The strange magic used on the highschool has effected FUJISAWA and NANAMI. 
	They are eerily frozen in place.</p>

	<p>MAKOTO is trying to make his way through the empty and frozen corridors of 
	the highschool, when he appears to hear someone speaking.</p>

	<p align="CENTER">What?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>He turns around.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Who’s there?!</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>He turns back the way he was going.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">You want me to go... this way?</p>
	<p align="CENTER"></p>
	<p>He walks through the school for a while, before arriving at the entrance 
	to the basement.</p>
	<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
	<p align="CENTER">Huh... The ruins?</p>

<p>MAKOTO clambers down into the basement and studies the wild markings and strange 
symbols of the ruins. Strange beams of light are shining from the patterned floor.</p>

<p align="CENTER">Whoah.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>MAKOTO looks across to the pillar at the end of the room.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">I’ll betcha... That’s it.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>Walking across the strangely marked floor, MAKOTO starts getting caught up in 
the beams of light, that were perhaps protecting the pillar from intruders.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Let go!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>Whilst MAKOTO struggles to get away, the Eye symbol atop the room shines down 
on MAKOTO, unlocking the pillar. MAKOTO watches in amazement as the beams disappear, 
and from the pillar, a strange looking GIRL is revealed. She is very beautiful. 
The GIRL looks up, tears streaming down her face, and sees MAKOTO.</p>

<p align="CENTER">Makoto, at long last, we meet.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="JUSTIFY">The GIRL steps out from the pillar, and totters unsteadily towards 
MAKOTO. After reaching MAKOTO, the GIRL totally collapses and forces him to support 
her weight in a hug.</p>
<p align="JUSTIFY"></p>
<p align="CENTER">GIRL</p>
<p align="CENTER">Oh, I’ve waited so long for you. I’ve been patient these last 
ten millennia. This moment has finally arrived after ten thousand years.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Uh, hey, what’s your name?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">GIRL</p>
<p align="CENTER">You mean, you’ve forgotten? Through the endless nights I dreamt 
only of you. You, my dear Makoto.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>She sighs happily and rubs his back with her hands.</p>
<p align="CENTER">GIRL</p>
<p align="CENTER">Time grows short. We cannot delay now. My powers have grown weak 
with the passage of years. </p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">What?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">GIRL</p>
<p align="CENTER">You must prepare to embark on your journey. With my remaining 
strength, I shall send you to El-Hazard.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">What’s &quot;El-Hazard&quot;?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>The GIRL doesn’t answer, and just glides back. She crosses her hands on her chest 
and closes her eyes. A wind starts to kick up in the chamber.</p>
<p align="CENTER">GIRL</p>
<p align="CENTER">Go now. Be safe.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Wait a minute! Please tell me what’s happening!</p>
<p align="JUSTIFY"></p>
<p align="CENTER">GIRL</p>
<p align="CENTER">I know I can rely upon you, Makoto. I will carry you in my thoughts 
and heart, until our paths cross again.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>The two stare at each other for a moment or two, before a brilliant white light 
engulfs MAKOTO completely.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">No!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>Suddenly, MAKOTO starts to invisage many strange and odd characters. The last 
one being a regally dressed princess that seems oddly familiar...</p>
<p>The GIRL smiles one last time and the whole place explodes in light. </p>
<p>23. INT/EXT – SHINONOME HIGHSCHOOL – GROUNDS/CLASSROOM – NIGHT</p>
<p>This light travels through the basement and engulfs JINNAI, NANAMI and FUJISAWA 
as well.</p>
<p>24. EXT – PLANET MONTAGE</p>
<p>Planets, cosmic rays, and stars flash through their mind as they’re taken to...</p>
<p>25. EXT – EL-HAZARD – JUNGLE – DAY</p>
<p>EL-HAZARD - The Magnificent World. MAKOTO is greeted to this new strange place 
with a vibrant and lush jungle, ripe with vegetation and flora. He looks around.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Wow.</p>
<p>Suddenly, MAKOTO hears rustling from a nearby thicket.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Huh?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">(O.S.)</p>
<p align="CENTER">Christ! Where the hell am I?!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA emerges from the bush, complete with lunch box and cup of tea.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">That’s it with the cheap saké, I’m swearing off.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Mr. Fujisawa! Hi.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Hi Makoto. So, what’ve you been up to lately?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA takes a swig from his cup of tea.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">I don’t really know... Gee. How did you get here?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">I don’t know. One minute, I was eating...</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA chucks the cup away.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">... and suddenly, I was wrestling with a shrub.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA starts to finish eating the rest of the packed lunch.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">(whilst chewing)</p>
<p align="CENTER">I’ve really gotta get back to school. I’m working nights, can’t 
keep the campus open.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Y’know, something seems out of place around here. This might not 
be Japan, or even Earth at all!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">(whilst chewing)</p>
<p align="CENTER">Uh huh. Have you been hanging out with Hayashi of the science 
fiction club?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA swallows and throws the box away.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Well, I gotta hit the road.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">And just exactly what road will you be traveling?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">You think I don’t know?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>A pause. FUJISAWA looks around and burps.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Okay, I don’t know. Well, we’ll just ask the next person that 
comes along.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>They both turn as they hear a loud rummaging from a bush. A strange dinosaur 
like ANIMAL pops out from the bush and bounces straight past them, singing as it 
goes. The ANIMAL then dives into another bush. MAKOTO and FUJISAWA are speechless.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Uh, sir. You didn’t ask him.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Y-you saw him too? I thought I had the DTs! I need a cigarette.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA produces a cigarette from his pocket and lights it.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">(to himself)</p>
<p align="CENTER">Everything’s fine... relax... stay cool. </p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>He inhales deeply, and then exhales through his nose. </p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">That’s it! A drink! That’ll calm my nerves.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA searches through his pockets.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Where is it?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA removes his saké bottle from his tracksuit pocket...</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Ah.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>... only to find it empty. FUJISAWA gasps and staggers about.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Ah! Gone! No drink! I need a drink! I can’t live without it! I 
nee-eed a drink!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Sensei...</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>Suddenly, they both hear a woman screaming.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Hey!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Oh shit, someone else is out of alcohol!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>Both MAKOTO and FUJISAWA start running off to the direction of the screams until 
they reach a seemingly empty opening. FUJISAWA soon sees the beautiful PRINCESS 
RUNE VENUS running through the jungle, crying for help.</p>
<p align="CENTER">RUNE</p>
<p align="CENTER">Help... me!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>Suddenly, she falls to floor unconscious.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Hey lady, what happened? You all right?</p>
<p>RUNE is dressed in very fancy garbs, which leave little to the imagination. FUJISAWA 
becomes aware of this and becomes very red in the face.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">(to MAKOTO)</p>
<p align="CENTER">Stop looking! You’re too young. Ah, I know how easily you kids 
get stimulated.</p>
<p>FUJISAWA puts a hand across his face.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Hm? </p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>MAKOTO points towards something off screen.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Ahhh! Mr. Fujisawa, what’s <i>that</i>?!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA, quickly getting the wrong end of the stick, covers MAKOTO’s eyes with 
his arm and makes sure he can’t see RUNE.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Do I have to blindfold you? I told you not to look!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">No, I’m not talking about that!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>MAKOTO grabs FUJISAWA’s head and points to the direction that MAKOTO was pointing 
at.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Look over there!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>An angry mob of giant insects, commonly known as the BUGROM, are charging towards 
FUJISAWA, MAKOTO and RUNE. </p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">What in the hell do ya think of that?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Let’s get outta here!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>The BUGROM have other plans though. 3 of them launch themselves at the two humans. 
Oddly enough though, when FUJISAWA swats them away to protect himself, they fly 
a good 20 feet in the air.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Huh? What the...?</p>
<p>Unabated, more BUGROM charge forwards.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Uh oh! Watch out!</p>
<p>As more and more BUGROM leap on to FUJISAWA, MAKOTO and RUNE, all FUJISAWA needs 
to do is give them a quick punch and they tumble off.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Huh... What’s going on?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Wow, Sensei! That was really something!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA slaps his fist against his palm and runs off to test out more of this 
new &quot;super strength&quot;.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Hahah! All right!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Ahh! Don’t do it!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>Many BUGROM try to protect each other by forming a picket line, but FUJISAWA 
easily dispenses of them.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Man, how did he get so strong?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>Using MAKOTO’s pause as an opportunity, a BUGROM lashes out at him. MAKOTO quickly 
runs off, trying to stay away from as many BUGROM as possible. Meanwhile, FUJISAWA 
is kicking more BUGROM ass. Suddenly, MAKOTO has an idea.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Hey, if he’s super human, maybe I am!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>MAKOTO punches a BUGROM defiantly. It doesn’t cause a single dent.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Then again, maybe not!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>And so MAKOTO resumes his cowardly running. </p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Ahhhhh! Mr. Fujisawaaaaa!!!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA turns to see MAKOTO pursued by a swarm of BUGROM.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Dammit!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">I... need... help!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>At this point, MAKOTO stumbles, and the viscous creatures loom over him. FUJISAWA 
runs to his aid.</p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Hang on, kid!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>FUJISAWA gives the BUGROM another taste of his new ability and they suddenly 
start retreating.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">They’re leaving.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">FUJISAWA</p>
<p align="CENTER">Damn, I was just warming up.</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>MAKOTO turns to hear people attending to RUNE.</p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">What the?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>The two humans look on as many royal servant types help and tend to RUNE’s sleeping 
form. ROLL LONDS, chief of the royal servants, turns and greets the strangers. He 
kneels and looks up at FUJISAWA.</p>
<p align="CENTER">LONDS</p>
<p align="CENTER">(addressing FUJISAWA)</p>
<p align="CENTER">Brave warrior, we are forever in your debt for saving the life 
of our princess. From what kingdom do you hail?</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>LONDS notices MAKOTO and gasps.</p>
<p align="CENTER">LONDS</p>
<p align="CENTER">Incredible!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p>RUNE has finally recovers, and when she sees MAKOTO, she runs straight over to 
him, taking his hand happily.</p>
<p align="CENTER">RUNE</p>
<p align="CENTER">Oh! Fatora! Oh, you’re back!</p>
<p align="CENTER"></p>
<p align="CENTER">MAKOTO</p>
<p align="CENTER">Huh?</p>

<p align="CENTER">Dear Fatora, you’re home. I was so worried. Where were you?</p>

<p>MAKOTO is being dressed as PRINCESS FATORA. ATTENDANTS rap robes around his body, 
whilst applying accessories and make up to him. FUJISAWA sits watching, drinking 
some more lovely wine.</p>

themselves.</p>

<p>MALE LEADER 2 nods his head in response. Two GUARDS open the main doors and RUNE 
and MAKOTO enter. LONDS, FUJISAWA and the ATTENDANTS follow. MAKOTO really has a 
time of keeping his blander in control, but LONDS quickly sorts him out. Both RUNE 
and MAKOTO sit before the LEADERS.</p>

<p align="CENTER">Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for coming so far. The purpose 
of this summit meeting today is to address the potential threat that El-Hazard and 
it’s allies face. Namely invasion from the Bugrom forces.</p>

<p>MAKOTO really isn’t keeping it together. That boy must need to pee, badly.</p>
<p align="CENTER">RUNE</p>
<p align="CENTER">But we still maintain the upper hand. So long as we control the

and small towns are falling as they advance from the outskirts. You can’t deliberate

a very odd way.</p>

of your intentions if you remove the shield from the weapon. Proofing that you’re 
really ready to strike with it.</p>

<p>An entire fleet of BUGROM and BUGROM aircraft approach the isolated piece of 
land. Thousands, upon thousands of brightly coloured insects march their way across 
the landscape. And atop the head aircraft, JINNAI points their way to victory.</p>

<p align="CENTER">El-Hazard shall be ours for the taking! Nothing shall stand in 
our way! March on, my legions!</p>

<p>JINNAI builds up to a massive laugh that echoes around the land.</p>

<p>NANAMI is in trouble. She’s also been warped to EL-HAZARD and she’s alone in 
this new weird place, with no friends or means of getting out.</p>

<p>She’s also dehydrating in a desert. She reaches a nearby stall with a MAN smoking
