Understanding the politics of El-Hazard is just as important as understanding the politics of Earth, nay even more so. For it is those who understand the balancing act that is El-Hazardian politics who have helped keep the fragile peace that exist from breaking apart, which is important because if that peace were to end, then all the humans of El-Hazard would be at risk.

The big political powerhouse in El-Hazard is the Alliance of Nations. The Alliance is a federation of several nations, kingdoms, and city-states all united to keep the human tribes of El-Hazard safe from a threat by an outside source such as the Bugrom. Member nations include Roshtaria, Laide, Gannan, Doros Land, Baron, Geynos, Balta Hill, and probably many more.

Of all these nations, it appears that Roshtaria holds the most power. It is in the capital city of Roshtaria, Floristica that the Alliance holds its conferences. Also it also appears that all final executive power rest in the hands of the dual monarchs of Roshtaria.

Why does Roshtaria hold so much power? This definitely stems from the fact that Roshtaria controls the Eye of God and is the only nation who can use it. This gives much leverage in any Alliance decisions for if Roshtaria were to leave, they could most likely stand on their own, but the other nations would not be so fortunate.

However, that does not mean that the other nations are merely window dressing. Each nation's rulers, or at least chosen representatives are often able to influence their will by showing unity for or against Roshtarian decisions. We see that the Alliance leaders are able to sway Rune Venus' decision to unseal the Eye of God because she fears future political reprisals by the other member nations. Indeed, it is a fragile peace and if one must wonder if the Alliance has ever had nations rescind their memberships over political disputes or policy disagreements.

However, for now, the Alliance is very united. Though the future may be marked with changes and possible strife. The Alliance army suffered many losses in the Bugrom/Alliance war and some nations saw more losses than others. How will the feelings of those nations feel about the sacrifices asked of their people when Roshtaria was the most protected? Also, since the Bugrom have been all but eliminated as a serious threat, could the Alliance nations once again focus on their own petty disputes? One has to wonder if the Phantom Tribe could once again try to manipulate the Alliance leaders like Galus had done. All this spells possible troubles and the best hope for political harmony will be leaders who know how to delegate properly, negotiate when challenged, and to concede when necessary. Hopefully, the future will see the two dual monarchs of Roshtaria mature into formidable stateswomen who will keep the fragile peace alive and thriving for this is a time when great prosperity can be achieved.
