Yuba Yurius is an aged man who lived hidden away inside the mysterious illusionary mountain that hid the Trigger for Destruction. He did not live alone, however, as he kept company with one of possibly many Ifurita model Demon gods, whom he freed of her obedience circuit and had taken on as a confidant, friend, and possibly even as his lover.

Yuba is very much like Makoto Mizuhara in that his story parallels Makoto’s in many ways. Yuba, like Makoto, is not a native of El-Hazard. As a younger man, he too was taken from his original world and found himself on El-Hazard. Also, like Makoto, Yuba discovered that he had a strange power inside him that allowed him to understand and control ancient El-Hazardian Technology.

However, unlike Makoto, When Yuba was transported to El-Hazard, he had no one to rely on and to help him in this new world. He ended up traveling alone for many years, until one day he stumbled upon the mountain illusion filled with many lost wonders of technology, including a beautiful, sleeping demon god by the name of Ifurita.

As Yuba began to activate the technology around him, he created a world of amazing lost natural wonders. However, this resurrected eco-sphere was only a side effect of something more insidious, and the reason why a powerful demon god was kept there as a sentry: The Trigger for Destruction.

However, as the years passed, Yuba and his Ifurita lived together and shared many memories and happy days. Yuba had found a needed friend in this new world, and Ifurita found peace from a prior life of war and destruction. Together, the spent their time in the quiet pursuit of knowledge and exploring humanity while also protecting the secrets that the hidden sanctuary kept.

Unfortunately, a series of events shattered that peace and soon the pair were faced with their most dire crisis. With Jinnai resurrecting Kalia, the being whose primary goal was to activate the Trigger, Yuba and Ifurita were forced to do whatever they could to stop this inhuman weapon, no matter the tragic possibilities.

Unfortunately, tragedy is what did follow. First, Ifurita is soundly defeated by Kalia and left inactive, drained of her energy and her mind sealed away so as to prevent her reactivation.

In an act that mirrors the story of Makoto and his Ifurita, Yuba performs an act of loving sacrifice, giving up his own life in an effort to revive his Ifurita and save his new home, his old home, actually, the entire universe.

The act is successful and Makoto and Yuba’s Ifurita do stop Kalia from destroying the universe. Now alone but still dignified, Ifurita buried the man who taught her humanity and spends her days protecting the sanctuary and reflecting on the life that she and Yuba shared, offering her wishes to Makoto that he and his Ifurita have a life as fulfilling as she and Yuba did.
